Principal’s Message
Dear Students,
New Law College, Sangli was established by Bharati Vidyapeeth in 1997, in the Western Region of Maharashtra, considering the need for Legal Education at the grassroots and for developing competent legal professionals. The college has made an astonishing stride in the field of higher and professional education and has been accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade in the first cycle in 2016-2017. Moreover, with pride, zeal and confidence, I envision a very bright future for New Law College, Sangli.
I have been in this college since its inception and have been perceiving many changes in the institution in academics, infrastructure, students and other stakeholders. The college has undergone a paradigm shift from traditional education to outcome-based education with modifications in the teaching –learning process and assessment methods.
The college is striving hard to provide quality legal education through adequate infrastructure and qualified faculty members. Teachers timely update themselves through orientation and refresher courses and exercise different teaching pedagogies for the benefit of the students.
It is ensured that every student of the college is mentored and guided by the teachers. Moreover, the mentors put persistent efforts into the student's professional as well as personal growth and help the students to achieve excellence. To acquire practical knowledge, the students are encouraged to Moot court practice, internship and court visits. To groom the skills that are indispensable for the legal profession, and to stimulate the competitive spirit of the student the college organizes various Interclass competitions and also motivates them to participate in different state and national level competitions. To prepare them for survival in the present competitive world; research has been introduced at Under Graduate level.
Thus, the college facilitates a positive learning environment and provides a strong platform for the students to improve and develop their skills. The students are given opportunities to showcase their skills and to reinforce potentials. We are committed to promote professional skills as well as ethics and Social orientation in the students which prepare them to contribute to social welfare. As said by Kobe Bryant “Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses."
So my message and advice to the students is, “Work hard, be honest and try to give your best, then no one can stop you from being successful."
I wish our students success in all their endeavors!
